Walking
On days when the rain falls in summer I think of you.
Would you see the rainbows in each raindrop falling on you?
My mind travels across time and slips up escalators and passes expensive department stores.
We're holding hands purchasing a late Christmas present.
Strings will be tuned by the small hands we created.
We saw Elephants swimming and with each ripple of water they broke borders.
I miss the moments we suspended the spinning worlds we lived in.
You took me on a walk with fireflies in your hair.
Take me again.
You see they're at war.
I've seen children sing in bunkers.
Cats in backpacks and polluted rivers
The Elephants are on an island dividing four countries.
Take me there again.
You see, I think we'll be walking too.
Christmas will be filled with smoke.
Escalators won't work and money will mean little.
Walking together crushing fire flies
while the lords of war keep time.
