He read their names
On the side of the road
We gathered
Covered in watermelon pips
We held our heads high
Some with fists in the air
Hot and weary walkers
He quenched our thirst
By reading every name
The new borns
The 1 year olds
The 2 year olds
The 3 year olds
The 4 year olds
He will not stop
Each kilometre taken
Is forty-two kilometres closer
To justice
To peace
Hearing their names
Their lives matter
Here at the side of the road
